Why Baja?
Even though it is only a few miles between San Diego and the border towns of Mexico, they are worlds apart. Riding the bus towards Baja, the landscape will drastically change as you enter a world of scarcity and hardship. Often, families of five or more sleep in small shanties built with scrap wood, metal sheets, and broken bricks. The poverty-stricken conditions make it nearly impossible for the people of Baja to provide their families with the basic need for shelter. This summer, the work of your hands can change that!

Level 1 Experience
Join over 300 other missionaries and be prepared to work hard and deliver hope as you take a week to serve God in Mexico. Show love through construction and leave a lasting structure behind that will remind one family of God’s love daily.

Acts of Love
You will build a home for a needy family, see incredible smiles on the faces of the children and parents that you serve, and leave a lasting impression on them as they move into the home that you built. Watch tears of joy stream down their faces as you give them the keys to their new home. When you’re not swinging a hammer, part of the day will also be spent going house to house and ministering to people in the surrounding neighborhood through service projects and children’s programs. This week will be packed full of physical and spiritual building of hearts and homes!
*Minister with the Newsboys! The band has already booked their tickets to serve in Baja this summer!

Stories From the Field

Baja trip was AMAZING! Giving the keys to a family to the new home you helped build for them---knowing that each day they will know God’s love and provision because we cared…..Stays in your heart! Amazing!  -Brooke

The teams have continued to work hard each day. We as leaders are very proud of them for the effort and heart they give. We are bringing the word into these communities sometimes for the first time.

Hola to all you Baja supporters! We are finally settled in and beginning our ministry. After a few long days of training and getting acquainted with each other we put it into action. Yesterday was our first day of ministry. I saw all the hard work pay off. Our ministry includes building a house from the foundation up, as well as VBS (vacation bible school). The VBS consisted of songs with actions and puppets, original drama productions, and crafts.  The first day I watched our groups work hard for our lord and completely set up the frame of a house, they were hammering nails like crazy working their Jesus loving butts off. The VBS was very successful as well, teams round up about 25-30 native children and put on an amazing and entertaining show. The Bible narrative of the day was Jonah and the Big Fish. Teams put on a great play I heard laughs and giggles from all around from all ages, also the kids did crafts making paper bag puppets of Jonah. All in all we spread the word of Christ through our actions and entertainment.  I want to let everyone know that your children and friends are in good hands and are praising out Lord in awesome ways this week. Keep all of us in prayer as we embark on the rest of this week and remember "faith without deeds is dead" James 2:26 Further Updates to come :)
