For those of you who have come with us before as Team Leaders or Country Assistants, this short “letter” is for you:
Bill Wilson is the founder of Metro Ministries and the Father of Sidewalk Sunday school. He and his team reach out to over 23, 000 New Yorkkids every week and have redefined children’s ministry. When asked, when he knew he was called to the Bronx, Bill’s response was, “I never got called into ministry. I saw a need, and I figured the need was the call.”
Well, I’m sure you’ve guessed by now that Global Expeditions is, right now, identifying and placing Team Leaders for the summer of 2010, and as we are gearing up and making plans to traverse the globe again, we have a request and its simple: Come back.
Are you waiting for some kind of “call?”
Its right here: We need you.
As you think about how you have grown spiritually and developed your relationship with Christ over the years, I know you can recall specific people who have made a real difference for you because of the way they encouraged, mentored, and set an example for you. These are people we look up to as leaders and we’re glad for their influence.
Now more than ever, this generation of teens is looking for leaders like that. They are looking for someone like you to show them what it means to follow God with all their heart, to minister to others with passion, and to be a person of character.
You’ve lead a GE trip before, so I know you understand the reality of what I’m sharing.
Will you let this need be your call? Will you consider dedicating this summer to coaching, mentoring, counseling, loving, and leading teenagers to share their faith around the world?
